A synodal Church journeys together. It is impossible to think of this experience of being the Church on a journey if it does not include the active participation of all the members of God’s People.1 Every voice is needed to create community, break down barriers, and promote encounters to pursue the good of all.
St. Mary of the Expectation will conduct listening sessions that allow parishioners to come together and share experiences of being Church in this, our local parish. These consultations will be collected and sent to Cardinal Di Nardo and Bishop Dell’Oro, then on to Rome for the Synod of Bishops.
Listening Sessions will be held on:
Wednesday, March 9
6:00 pm - 7:15pm
Matthew and Mark Meeting Rooms
Located in the Ministry Building
Sunday, March 13
1:15 pm - 2:30 pm -- Young Adults
Luke & John Meeting Rooms in the Ministry Building
Sunday, March 20
10:00 am - 11:30 am
Luke & John Meeting Rooms in the Ministry Building
To prepare for a listening session, ask yourself
a) What encounters/experiences have I shared with others at St. Mary of the Expectation in the last two years?
b) What joys did this encounter provoke? What difficulties and obstacles did it revealed?
