Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

St. Mary of the Expectation offers a unique catechetical (faith formation) program for 3-6 year olds called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS).  CGS is a program that began in Italy and has become a practice throughout the world that improves catechesis for young children. It builds on the personal relationship with God that they already have. 

Often times children, though they do not know the "stuff" of our faith (facts, figures, ideas, etc.), are the ones who see God's movement in our world most clearly. CGS is a program that uses what we know about stages of development for children. They learn the practices necessary (like being still/quiet, self-control, and care for others) to pray well and develop an ability to see and hear God as they grow up. Our program is steeped in both Scripture and Traditions of our Catholic faith and helps children to become familiar with the types of things they'll see and hear at Mass so that their time in the church is more fruitful for them (and you!).

Classes meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:15. Times may be adjusted for the convenience of registered parents.
