Each fall, Elementary Faith Formation prepares a list of students who are ready for sacrament preparation the following spring. To be eligible, a child must
1) be in second grade or older
2) be baptized in the Catholic faith
3) have completed the previous year’s faith formation with at least 70% attendance (CCE, Catholic School, or a USCCB-approved home-based catechetical program) NOTE: Absences caused by the Coronavirus will not be taken into consideration.
4) be participating in grade-level, ongoing faith formation with good attendance
In early December, parents receive a letter of invitation to register for the sacrament program with a request to provide either a baptismal certificate from the church of baptism issued within the last six months or the date of the baptism if it was celebrated at St. Mary of the Expectation. In addition to the child’s regular religion classes, parents and students will be expected to attend a weekly sacrament class, January-April, excluding holidays. The full calendar will be available in October 2020
