Dear Friends,
The Catholic Christian faith we celebrate, live, and embrace is very old – dating back some 2000 years. It has seen remarkable changes in history from the expansion of culture through sailing ships, the invention of steam engines, the discovery of diseases and their cures, to the launching of the space age. Yet in spite of the changes that humanity has undergone, the message remains the same – Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! All of human destiny is geared toward this reality.
Over the course of those many centuries, the means of spreading this message has changed dramatically. The early Christians spread the message orally, telling the stories from father to son and mother to daughter. As the years moved on and people became literate, the message began to be written down so people could read it for themselves through the Sacred Scriptures (the Bible). With the invention of the printing press, the written Bible could be mass-produced for everyone to read. Later, the inventions of the telephone and television provided even more people exposure to the Christian message. Now we find ourselves in the electronic age. The World Wide Web allows us to share Catholic Christianity more than ever.
Welcome to the new and improved website for St. Mary Catholic Church in League City, Texas. This website will help to keep you informed of everything happening in our community from the Mass schedule and daily Mass readings to the latest gatherings and activities, as well as our weekly printed bulletin. It will help to answer many questions you may have about our active and faith-filled community.
With all the technology that has developed in human history and is found here on this website, I pray we all remember that Christianity only truly works “in person”. We invite you to come out and share your faith with our community at one of our many services offered each week.
After all, Jesus tells us Himself, “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am in their midst.” Please visit and bring the presence of Christ with you to St Mary’s!
Welcome!
